In QDR, DOD Considers Capabilities Needed to Manage Relations With China

Senior Pentagon officials leading the Quadrennial Defense Review are training their focus on the capabilities U.S. military forces need to manage future relations with China. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has directed that the congressionally mandated review examine a handful of "core" problems, including how the Defense Department might "shape the choices of countries at strategic crossroads."
