Rice Approves Merger of State Department Arms Control, Nonproliferation Bureaus

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has agreed in principle to merging the State Department's Arms Control and Nonproliferation bureaus, based in part on a recommendation from the agency's inspector general, sources told InsideDefense.com this week. Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control Stephen Rademaker is expected to be tapped to run the new organization, they added.
