Rumsfeld Says $1 Billion Will Boost Missile Defense R&D

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld today confirmed that the Bush administration will devote $1 billion in research and development money in fiscal year 2002 on developing missile defense technologies, but added that how the money will be spent has yet to be determined.
