Running Short On Anthrax Vaccine, Pentagon Reactivates 30-Day Exclusion Policy

The Pentagon announced today that it is going back to a policy of not requiring anthrax immunization shots for troops who will be in high-risk areas for 30 days or less. On Tuesday (July 11), senior defense officials announced the Anthrax Immunization Program -- a six-shot inoculation regimen designed to protect troops against the anthrax virus -- was being restructured to stretch out the remaining doses, about 100,000.
