Schoomaker Approves 24-Ton Future Combat System Ground Vehicle

The Army's chief of staff has directed the service to proceed with a concept for a 24-ton Future Combat System Manned Ground Vehicle, according to an early draft of a statement on the decision. The draft statement, dated May and obtained by Inside the Army, indicates that Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Schoomaker was ready to announce his decision May 31.
