Schwartz: Air Force Recommends Killing C-130 AMP Program

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz said today the service is recommending killing the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program, noting that a severe cost increase suffered two years ago doomed the effort. At an Air Force Association-sponsored conference at National Harbor, MD, Schwartz told Inside the Air Force the recommendation to end the C-130 AMP program was offered as part of the service's fiscal year 2011 budget proposal recently sent to the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
