Senate Appropriators Fill In Funding Gap For MQ-1 and MQ-9 Op Centers

The Senate Appropriations Committee is recommending that the Air National Guard be given $35.7 million to cover a funding shortfall that, if neglected, would make it difficult for the Guard to stand up six unmanned aircraft squadron operations centers. The multimillion-dollar funding would assist the Air National Guard with establishing MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper remote split operations (RSO) sites at some of its bases, according to language in the committee's fiscal year 2014 defense appropriations bill.
