Senate panel seeks DLA, TRANSCOM assessment to find efficiencies

The Senate Armed Services Committee is calling for an assessment of the Defense Logistics Agency and U.S. Transportation Command to determine whether efficiencies can be achieved by reorganizing or consolidating the two organizations. "The committee believes that while DLA and TRANSCOM have different missions in support of the warfighter, there may be efficiencies that could be created by reorganizing or consolidating the two agencies," the Senate authorizers write in the report accompanying their version of the fiscal year 2017 defense...
