Senior Sources: Old Predators Used as Decoys to Provoke Iraqi Air Defenses

U.S. Central Command recently dispatched two of the oldest Air Force Predator unmanned aerial vehicles, stripped of their expensive sensors and armaments, to provoke a response from the Iraqi military and expose remaining pockets of the country's air defense systems. The UAVs, far past their service lives, conducted "very long" missions flying around Baghdad to see how the Iraqi air defense system would react, according to a senior Air Force source.
