Shays, Markey ask Powell for Information on Iran's Nuclear Program

Citing concerns that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons technology, two high-ranking members of the Congressional Task Force on Nonproliferation asked Secretary of State Colin Powell today for an assessment of Iran's nuclear program. In a letter to Powell, Reps. Christopher Shays (R-CT) and Edward Markey (D-MA) also ask for the Bush administration's assessment of a recently concluded deal between Iran and three U.S. allies in Europe -- the United Kingdom, France and Germany -- to suspend Tehran's uranium enrichment program...
