House appropriators have denied the Pentagon's request to reprogram $72 million from efforts to upgrade the Army's Paladin Self-propelled Howitzer artillery system, according to multiple sources close to the issue. The Army had hoped to transfer the fiscal year 2014 money from its Paladin Integrated Management system to other priorities, according to Defense Department reprogramming documents.
