SSBN(X) Officially Passes Milestone A; Navy Aiming For $4.9 Billion Per Hull

The Defense Acquisition Board has endorsed a plan for the SSBN(X) class of Ohio-replacement ballistic missile submarines that involves 12 hulls at $4.9 billion a piece, each with 16 87-inch missile tubes designed to carry the D5 missile, the Navy announced today.
