Thornberry Renews Call for Sweeping State Department Review

Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) has re-introduced legislation calling for a review of the State Department to determine if it can be better organized as the nation conducts the global war on terrorism. His bill, co-sponsored by Vic Snyder (D-AR), would create a commission of 10 members, chosen by the Republican and Democratic leadership, who would consider how the department could fulfill its missions in the 21st century.
