UDI, EDO and DRS Announce Separate Acquisitions

More than half a billion dollars' worth of mergers and acquisitions among up-and-coming defense contractors took place in recent days. United Defense Industries announced the largest acquisition with its $316 million agreement to buy Norfolk, VA-based United States Marine Repair. EDO Corp. announced an agreement to buy Morgan Hill, CA-based Condor Systems for $112 million. And DRS Technologies said it was buying Eaton Corp.'s Navy Controls Division for $92 million.
