For War on Terrorism, Navy Could Field New 'SOF-Lite' Ground Troops

As part of an overall look at how the Navy could help fight the war on terrorism, a service working group has recommended the Navy establish ground combat units with "SOF-lite" capabilities inferior to special operations forces SEALs but better than Navy master-at-arms security forces, according to a Navy official.
