White House to overhaul Federal Acquisition Regulation

The Trump administration is preparing to launch a major re-write of the Federal Acquisition Regulation that governs the annual purchase of about $1 trillion in goods and services, of which the Defense Department is the largest consumer. President Trump, in an executive order released last night , noted that “conducting business with the Federal Government is often prohibitively inefficient and costly” as the FAR has “swelled” over the years to more than 2,000 pages of regulations featuring “an onerous bureaucracy.”...
