White House Requests $9.3 Billion for NNSA Nuclear Weapons, Nonproliferation Work

The Bush administration today unveiled its $9.3 billion fiscal year 2007 budget request for the National Nuclear Security Administration, which manages the country's nuclear weapons complex and an array of nonproliferation programs. If approved by Congress, the amount for the next fiscal year would be a $211 million, or 2.3 percent, increase over funds appropriated in FY-06, according to documents released by the Energy Department.
