Combat Demo

Senate appropriators are proposing a $100 million plus-up to the Air Force's research and development account to support a light-attack combat demonstration in 2018. The service has said a combat demonstration is the likely next step in its effort to identify an affordable low-end jet that could increase its fighter capacity, but officials have said funding for the overseas demonstration could be an obstacle. The Air Force expects to make a decision next month on whether to conduct the exercise.
