USAF details Block 5 MQ-9 improvements in 2016 selected acquisition report

The Air Force plans to mature extended-range technology for its Block 5 MQ-9 Reapers under an undefinitized contract action issued March 30, a service spokesman said this week. New capabilities also will be added to the Block 5 fleet every nine to 18 months based on Air Combat Command's priorities to fix 19 Category I deficiencies found during follow-on test and evaluation, the MQ-9 program office said through an Aug. 7 email from spokesman Brian Brackens.
