AIA hires Prowitt

The Aerospace Industries Association said today it has named Peter Prowitt chief operating officer, effective in July.

Prowitt is executive director of global government relations at GE Aviation. He will succeed Bob Durbin, who is retiring.

Prowitt joined GE in 1995 and became the government relations team leader for GE Aviation in 2010. He has previously worked at shipping company American President Lines and in Congress, as chief of staff for Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) and as staff director of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
