The 42nd Air Base Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base, AL, is procuring a portable system that can electronically detect and defeat personal unmanned aircraft systems, according to a Federal Business Opportunities notice posted Feb. 22.

Such a machine would pick up the signal from a variety of UAS or their ground stations, disrupt or control the radio link between the system and its pilot and interfere with its GPS signal, according to the statement of objectives.

It should be able to be carried by one person at no bigger than two feet long and nine pounds and should last for more than a month on a rechargeable battery.

Responses are due Feb. 28.
