Rear Adm. Brian Antonio has left his post as program executive officer for the Littoral Combat Ship to become the next PEO for aircraft carriers.

Antonio relieved Vice Adm. (sel.) Tom Moore as PEO aircraft carriers during a June 1 ceremony at Washington Navy Yard. Moore will be sworn in as Naval Sea Systems Command chief later this month, according to a Navy statement.

"Antonio returns to PEO CV after having served as the major program manager for Future Aircraft Carriers from 2007-2011," the June 1 statement reads. "This assignment spanned from lead ship contract award and the start of the future USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) full-scale production, to initial steel cutting for the second ship of the class, the future USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79)."
