Army buys Bradley transmissions

The Army this week awarded L3 Technologies a $43 million contract modification to procure 184 hydromechanical transmissions for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Multiple Launch Rocket System.

The award is scheduled for completion on May 19, 2020. The service at the time of award obligated $43 million in fiscal year 2017 and 2018 funding, according to the Defense Department.

J.C. Bamford Excavators North America also received a modification this week, worth $72 million, to provide High-Mobility Engineer Excavator Type 1 vehicles. The contract is scheduled to end on April 28, 2019.

Additionally, AM General received a $51 million firm-fixed-price contract to recapitalize a number of humvees, with an end date of Aug. 30, 2019. The service obligated $51 million at the time of award.
