The Army is gathering information from industry for developing dismounted electronic warfare capabilities to fulfill requirements from an operational needs statement.

The service's Rapid Capabilities Office posted a request for information on Federal Business Opportunities Nov. 27 for portable EW systems for brigade combat teams to counter unmanned aircraft systems and conduct offensive EW, specifically electronic attack and electronic surveillance.

The Army expects the data gathered from this search to help establish threshold performance requirements for the systems.

Contractors are expected to submit information on their systems' capabilities along with recommendations for the Army's development of these capabilities in the future by Dec. 14.

The Army expects to release a final solicitation sometime between January and March 2019, pending the results of this search.
