Maj. Gen. Milford Beagle Jr., currently in charge of the 10th Mountain Division, will receive a third star and become the next commander of the Combined Arms Center, according to an Army announcement.

He will take command of CAC, a subordinate unit of Training and Doctrine Command based at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, “in the near future,” according to the announcement from Ft. Drum, NY, where the 10th Mountain is headquartered.

CAC, based at Ft. Leavenworth, develops warfighting doctrine and trains senior Army officers as a subordinate unit of Training and Doctrine Command.

Lt. Gen. Ted Martin, the current CAC commander, will retire when he leaves his position, an official with knowledge of the plans told Inside Defense. The timing of the change-of-command ceremony has not been announced, and it could be later this year.
