DOD shifts $300M to shore up readiness

The Pentagon is reprogramming more than $300 million to various military readiness accounts, according to a new notice from the Defense Department comptroller's office.

Key increases include $84 million for the Army Flying Hour program, $88 million for Navy fighter pilot training, $77 million for Air Force depot maintenance activities.

The fund are being reprogrammed from the defense-wide operations and maintenance account, where they were previously programmed for administration activities.
