Former Boeing CEO joins Clayton, Dubilier & Rice

Jim McNerney, the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Boeing, has been named a senior adviser at private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, tasked with helping identify and evaluate new investment opportunities.

McNerney will also be focused on "driving value creation strategies" at companies owned by the firm, CDR said in its announcement.

McNerney was Boeing's CEO from 2005 to 2015. Before that, he was CEO of 3M and a senior executive at General Electric.
