Former DOD official Zachary Mears joins Covington

Zachary Mears, a former Pentagon official, has joined Covington & Burling as a senior adviser in the law firm's aerospace, defense and national security group and the public policy and government affairs practice, Covington said today.

Mears previously served as chief of staff to the deputy defense secretary and as deputy chief of staff to the defense secretary. He also advised the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental.

Earlier this year, Mears was named to a shared leadership position at Battelle and the Ohio State University.
