Here are some must-reads from this week's edition of Inside the Pentagon:

1. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain (R-AZ) said this week he has plans to establish a new cyber subcommittee, which he hopes will be chaired by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

2. The government-industry advisory panel established to tackle technical data rights issues will face a Feb. 1 deadline, according to the conference report on the fiscal year 2017 defense authorization bill.

3. Congress has removed a provision from the final version of the defense policy bill that would have moved the developmental test and evaluation shop under the purview of the director of operational test and evaluation. However, lawmakers remain concerned about the balance between the two organizations.
