The House voted 280-138 today to pass a four-bill fiscal year 2020 national security appropriations package, sending the legislation to the Senate.

The national security "minibus" is one of two packages that make up a broad $1.37 trillion FY-20 discretionary spending deal. The bill is in line with the $738 billion in total FY-20 defense spending that Congress has authorized.

The Senate must pass the measures and President Trump must sign them into law before a stopgap continuing resolution expires Friday at midnight, otherwise the federal government will shut down.

Meanwhile, the Senate passed the final FY-20 defense authorization bill today, sending it to Trump for his signature.
