The House plans to vote Wednesday on a one-week continuing resolution to temporarily avert a shutdown of the federal government until lawmakers can agree on a final spending deal.
The government has been operating under a CR since Oct. 1 that, absent a vote to extend it, will expire Dec. 11. The new CR would expire Dec. 18.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced plans for the new CR vote in a tweet.
"I am disappointed that we have not yet reached agreement on government funding," he tweeted. "The House will vote on Wednesday on a one-week CR to keep government open while negotiations continue."
