On July 16, 2004, Inside the Air Force ran a story on the Pentagon's efforts to preserve its Business Management Modernization Program -- an effort meant to help it get audit-ready by fiscal year 2007.

Even as many things change in Pentagon priorities, this one has not. However, it has been delayed. The Pentagon is now seeking to be audit-ready by FY-17, 10 years later than the deadline discussed in our 2004 piece.
