Trump names Navy manpower, reserve affairs nominee

President Trump has nominated Greg Slavonic be the Navy's assistant secretary for manpower and reserve affairs, according to a White House statement.

Slavonic most recently served as chief of staff for Sen. James Lankford (R-OK). Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Computer Sciences Corp. He also served in the Navy for 34 years, retiring as a rear admiral.

Slavonic has written two books on leadership development along with co-authoring one on U.S. Olympian Jim Thorpe, according to the White House statement.
