Week Ahead

As the defense world awaits a congressional conference committee report on the fiscal year 2016 defense authorization bill, the week ahead includes a series of earnings calls from some of the defense industry's biggest players, a confirmation hearing for the next Army chief, the Aspen Security Forum and a meeting of the influential Defense Business Board.

Tuesday

Lockheed Martin is set to release its second-quarter earnings.

The Senate Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing to consider the nomination of General Mark A. Milley to become the next Army chief of staff. Milley is currently the head of U.S. Army Forces Command.

Wednesday

Boeing will announce its second-quarter earnings.

The 2015 Air Force Forum is slated to feature Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James; Gary Bliss, director of performance assessments and root cause analyses; Mark Tapper, special adviser to the deputy chief of staff for Air Force intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance; and Maj. Gen. Arnold Bunch, the military deputy to the Air Force acquisition chief.
