Acting Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and other senior Pentagon officials are scheduled to speak at conferences in the Washington area this week. Congress is out.

Monday

The Atlantic Council hosts discussions on the U.S.-French defense relationship and NATO defense spending.

Tuesday

The Brookings Institution hosts a discussion on defense spending in the 50 U.S. states.

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council hosts a discussion about the administration's artificial intelligence initiative.

Wednesday

The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosts a budget and policy forum on the FY-20 space budget, featuring senior defense officials and lawmakers including acting Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan.

Washington Technology hosts a breakfast on commercial tech. Panelists will include Chris Moran, who heads Lockheed Martin Ventures.

Booz Allen hosts the Directed Energy Summit featuring senior Pentagon officials. The event runs through Thursday.

The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association hosts the Belvoir Industry Days conference at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Thursday

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford speaks at the Atlantic Council about the Pentagon's new era of "great power competition."

The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosts Army Under Secretary Ryan McCarthy to discuss Army modernization priorities.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions executives will present at the Seaport Global Annual Transports & Industrials Conference in Coral Gables, FL.

Friday

The Brookings Institution hosts a discussion about the future of strategic stability as the United States suspends its obligations under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
