The week ahead

The week ahead features a host of defense contractor earnings calls, as well as several key legislative hearings and public appearances by senior Pentagon officials.

Monday

The House Rules Committee will meet to discuss amendments to a "minibus" appropriations bill that includes defense, military construction, veterans affairs, the legislative branch and energy and water development.

Tuesday

The House Armed Services oversight and investigations subcommittee will hold a hearing on equipment and uniform procurement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies will host a discussion on future vertical lift.

Army Training and Doctrine Command hosts a "mad scientist" event at Georgetown University to discuss disruptive technologies.

Wednesday

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein speaks at an Air Force Association breakfast.

Boeing, General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman executives are slated to discuss their companies' quarterly earnings.

The Senate Armed Services seapower subcommittee will hold a hearing with naval analysts to discuss options for achieving a 355-ship Navy.

Acting Army Secretary Robert Speer speaks at an Association of the United States Army forum.

Thursday

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley will speak at a National Press Club luncheon.

Executives from Raytheon, L3 Technologies and Kratos Defense & Security Solutions will discuss their quarterly earnings.

Friday

Rockwell Collins executives will discuss their company's quarterly earnings.
