Senate Hearing On CR, Sequestration

On Feb. 12, 2013, the Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing on the effects of the continuing resolution and sequestration on the military. Includes the opening statements of committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) and Ranking Member Jim Inhofe (R-OK) as well as the prepared testimony of Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, Pentagon Comptroller Robert Hale, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond Odierno, Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mark Ferguson (in place of CNO Adm. Jonathan Greenert), Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Amos, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh, and National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Frank Grass. (Note: The House Armed Services Committee held a similar hearing the following day, in which the same witnesses submitted identical prepared testimony.)
