Raytheon reports improved sales, decreased profit

Raytheon said Thursday that sales in its most recent quarter grew nearly 6 percent to hit $5.8 billion. However, the company’s quarterly profit declined about 13 percent to $447 million. The contractor’s sales growth was driven by its missile systems and integrated defense systems businesses. Raytheon said the missile systems unit saw revenue increase 11 percent based on bolstered sales of its TOW missiles and other missile defense programs, while the IDS unit saw increased sales of international Patriot programs...
