Defense Department considering giving allies access to MUOS

Officials within the defense secretary's office initiated discussions with allied nations earlier this year to potentially give those countries access to the Navy's next-generation satellite communications system, a Defense Department spokesman confirmed. The Navy's Mobile User Objective System is a network of satellites intended to provide secure communications data to the U.S. military.
