Pentagon review board approved Marines' ACV for early production phase

A senior Pentagon review board last week approved the Marine Corps' next-generation amphibious vehicle program for an early production phase and the service expects to award contracts within a week, according to a Defense Department source and a notification sent to Congress. The Defense Acquisition Board, chaired by Pentagon acquisition chief Frank Kendall, on Nov. 17 approved the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Increment 1.1 program for its milestone B phase, clearing the way for it to enter engineering and manufacturing development...
