Defense experts endorse protest process, but lament unintended consequences

Defense officials and executives agreed at a March 2 panel that the bid protest process is needed, but said it has unintended consequences on the acquisition system. Contracting executives and military officials called protests a product of the need for improved communication between industry and the government.
