DOD IG: Army 'could endanger crews' with flawed PIM vehicles

The Army has "justified" the low-rate initial production plan for the Paladin Integrated Management program, but has failed to address two "performance deficiencies identified by the test community during the system development phase," according to a government audit. In a report released Aug. 5, the Defense Department inspector general found that "PIM program officials justified their plan to produce 133 initial production vehicles," including 33 test vehicles and 100 production vehicles, in anticipation of a full-rate production decision in March...
