Final export control rules issued for two munitions list categories

The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security and the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls in late July issued final rules implementing export control reforms for two munitions list categories covering toxicological agents and directed-energy weapons. By October at the latest, the Obama administration should also issue a final rule on category XII of the U.S. munitions list, which covers lasers, sensors and other guidance technology, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration Kevin Wolf told Inside U.S....
