Details emerge on Army's strategy to increase end strength

The Army is pursuing a multifaceted strategy to absorb an end strength increase authorized by Congress in fiscal year 2017, from stemming the loss of experienced officers to recruiting new soldiers. The planning process includes three main lines of effort, Inside the Army has learned: enlisted accessions, enlisted retention, and officer accessions and retention. Additionally, the service is pursuing two supporting lines of effort: communication and resources. Leaders plan to brief lawmakers on the strategy in the coming days...
