Reed: Trump's Afghanistan strategy is 'contradictory,' still awaiting cost details

NEWPORT, RI -- Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-RI) told Inside Defense this week President Trump's new Afghanistan strategy is "contradictory" and that Congress is still awaiting cost details. An increase in troops equates to additional monies needed in Afghanistan, Reed told Inside Defense here Aug. 28.
