GDLS receives M1A2 SEPv4 developmental contract

The Army on Aug. 25 awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $310.6 million contract modification for upgrades to the Abrams main battle tank, according to a Defense Department announcement. The service is preparing to field the latest upgrade to the Abrams, M1A2 System Enhancement Package version 3. The latest funding supports development of the next iteration of the follow-on upgrade, known as Engineering Change Proposal 1B or M1A2 SEPv4.
