Polaris Alpha buys Fourth Dimension Engineering

Polaris Alpha today announced it is acquiring Columbia, MD-based Fourth Dimension Engineering.

Polaris provides advanced technology, software and solutions to the defense and intelligence communities. Acquiring Fourth Dimension will expand Polaris Alpha's expertise in cyber operations, according to a statement issued by the latter company.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the acquisition officially closed April 11, 2018, according to the Polaris Alpha statement.

Fourth Dimension "has deep expertise in the areas of electrical and mechanical design and development, custom wireless solutions and embedded software and hardware development," the Polaris Alpha statement reads. "This acquisition significantly enhances Polaris Alpha's technical leadership in the advanced cyber arena."

Fourth Dimension President and CEO Tom Conrad and Chief Analytics Officer Faith Horowitz, who both co-founded the company, will become part of Polaris Alpha's leadership team, according to the statement.
