The Defense Policy Board will hold a meeting next month to discuss the alignment between China and Russia, according to a notice in today's Federal Register.

The March 3-4 meeting will feature "classified discussions on national security implications related to Sino-Russian alignment," the notice reads, including briefings by intelligence specialists on East Asia as well as Russia and Eurasia.

The board will also get briefed by Defense Department specialists on China as well as Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia along with the Russia Strategic Initiative, the China Strategic Focus Group and the office of the director for net assessment.

Jim Dobbins from the RAND Corp. and Richard Weitz from the Hudson Institute will also attend and provide briefings, along with officials from the Commerce and Treasury departments.

After board members finish discussing the issue, they will provide an "outbrief to the secretary of defense on their recommendations regarding Sino-Russian alignment," the notice states.
