Science Applications International Corp. said today it plans to add a new Innovation Factory Hub in Huntsville, AL, which is SAIC's second-largest single location.

"This marks the latest expansion of SAIC's Innovation Factory network where the Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal government agencies can evaluate new technologies and accelerate delivery of new and modernized systems," the company said.

SAIC describes its Innovation Factory as a network of physical and virtual environments that use a cloud-hosted toolset as well as agile practices and DevSecOps.

The contractor already has more than 2,800 employees in Huntsville.

SAIC said the new hub will open in multiple phases. Teams can immediately use the Innovation Factory's processes and tools focused on app and IT modernization in existing conference spaces in the first phase.

"Follow-on phases will leverage 'workplace of the future' renovations in SAIC's Odyssey Drive facility, and incorporate digital engineering, data analytics and modeling and simulation cloud-based tools," the company said. "Completion of hub spaces is targeted for Spring 2021."

SAIC already has Innovation Factory locations in Reston, VA; Lowell, MA; Los Angeles; and Austin, TX.
