The National Defense Industrial Association said today its latest survey of small businesses in the defense industry found they are most concerned about revenue expectations, access to capital and clear Pentagon guidance as they cope with the ongoing pandemic.

This survey collected data between June 10 and July 3 and was the second such survey conducted by NDIA.

"NDIA saw respondents register a decreased impact across the range of categories for this survey compared to the March 2020 assessment, indicating that companies are seeing COVID-19 have a lesser impact now versus earlier this year," according to a survey summary.

However, "71% of respondents cited a disruption in their cash flow as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, up from just 60.63% in the March 2020 survey," the summary added. "Issues with workforce and cash flow or finances continue to be the most cited impact resulting from the COVID-19 crisis."

NDIA said it found that manufacturing businesses are seeing less disruption than technology and services companies.

Both surveys were done at the request of the Pentagon, the association noted.
